Combining physical play and technology: the Mover Kit
Technology Will Save Us has launched their most recent product, the Mover Kit for children. According to researchers, 65% of jobs in the future currently do not exist. We need to prepare the Generation X/Y for the technological future.
The Mover Kit is a combination of coding and playful physical activity. The wristband lets children have the freedom to code what they want. First they will need to build the wearable device, which is as easy as building a LEGO house. The children then can enter different codes on their computer, choosing which lights appear depending on the movement they make. For example if they enter “if I jump 10 times, unleash pink” or “if I go south, unleash blue”. Children can also set a timer of two minutes when brushing their teeth for instance. If they want, the wearable can flash green, yellow and blue when the task is complete. The options are endless.
For ages 8 and up, children can learn the fundamentals of electronics, programming and solve problems creatively. It encourages kids to get outside and play.
